Biographical sketch
Given her initial training in industrial design and her solid experience in health research, Pascale Lehoux combines a specific mix of unique skills, which was key to the Chair research program.

She obtained her Ph.D. in Public Health from University of Montreal (Quebec, Canada) in 1996. She then completed postdoctoral studies in Science and Technology Studies at the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands) in 1996-1997. She obtained a National Scholar from the NHRDP (1998-2003) and a New Investigator Award from the CIHR-IHPSR (2003-2008).

Her research sought to contribute to the field of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) by improving the understanding of how knowledge and technology are utilized. She examined the use of computerized medical records, telemedicine, home care equipment and satellite and mobile dialysis units. Her "Judgement and health innovations" research program examined the evolution, over fifteen years, of five academic spin-offs that developed medical technologies. This research paid attention to the influence of capital investment, economic policies and regulatory bodies on technological development.

Her work relies extensively on the sociology of innovation, analyses of science-based policymaking and qualitative research.
